PAMTA is the local affiliate of the Illinois State Music Teachers Association and the Music Teachers National Association. The objective of this group is to Encourage and exchange of ideas in the field; to Enrich the love and understanding of music; and to Elevate the standards of teaching music by recognizing the experience, training, and challenge necessary for professional growth.

ISMTA South Competition

ISMTA Piano Competition is a single tier competition

Categories are:

  1. Primary – grades 1-3 (entry fee $30)
  2. Elementary – grates 4-6 (Entry fee $40)
  3. Junior – grades 7-9 (Entry fee $50)
  4. Senior – grades 10-12 (Entry fee $60)
  5. Collegiate – (Entry fee $75)
  6. Piano Duet –  elementary, junior, and senior

Currently, categories only include piano solo and piano duet.  ISMTA plans to include additional instrumental/voice categories in the future.
